Personal Data Protection

As of 25.05.2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679, also known as the GDPR, applies, which strengthens the framework for the protection of data subjects with regard to the processing of personal data in the European Union.

Inteli Express respects the personal data of its customers and complies with the GDPR in the context of its activity and purpose and takes the foreseen and available technical and organizational measures for their effective protection as provided for in the GDPR and the Greek legislation by extension.

1.Who is the Data Processing Officer?

INTELI EXPRESS acts as a Data Processing Officer for all personal data it collects, processes and stores.

2. What Personal Data is collected?

The Personal Data that Inteli Express collects and processes are only those that are necessary in each case for a specific and clearly defined purpose and on a specific legal basis. n this context, the processing concerns the Personal Data you provide to Inteli Express when you visit one of our branches or when you use our official websites or services. The personal information you provide to us includes information that is absolutely necessary for any business relationship with our Institution, such as:

  • Identification and demographic data such as full name, father’s name, gender, date and place of birth, National ID number, Passport No., nationality, TIN, Social Security number
  • Contact details (landline and mobile phone numbers, postal address, email address)
  • Data on the financial, property and marital status, such as E1 and E9, tax returns, occupation, earnings, property status
  • Data from the execution of payment transactions and the provision of payment services
  • Data relating to telephone conversations with the customer, which are recorded in accordance with the provisions of the legal framework
  • Data and information relating to the process of remote electronic identification of natural persons. In particular, for the verification of their biometric characteristics and their remote electronic identification, natural persons shall provide explicit and specific consent

Inteli Express collects Personal Data other than from you, additionally from:

  1. From TIRESIAS S.A. concerning:
    • Your credit rating
    • The conduct of your financial obligations concerning you
  2. Recording data from the video surveillance system for the protection of people and property on the premises of the Institution at all times.

3. What are the Purposes of Processing and the Legal Basis?

Personal Data are collected in accordance with the GDPR and applicable legislation, at the beginning of the transactional relationship and are processed for the following purposes:

  • Processing of your Personal Data with your consent
  • Processing of your Personal Data for the performance of the contract when we respond to a service request
  • Processing of your Personal Data for the fulfilment of our legal obligations
  • Processing of your Personal Data for our legitimate interests

4. Who are the recipients of your Personal Data?

Access to your Personal Data is initially available to Inteli Express employees, in the context of the performance of the tasks assigned to them by the Institution itself as the Data Processing Officer.

Thereafter, the Institution has the obligation to disclose your Personal Data to various third party recipients, upon request, such as:

  • Supervisory, Independent, Police, Judicial, and Public Authorities in general, within the framework of their powers
  • TIRESIAS S.A. for the data concerning records kept for the protection of credit and financial transactions in accordance with the applicable provisions

5.What is the Storage Period for your Data?

The data is kept from five (5) to ten (10) years, in order to safeguard the legitimate interests and legal obligations of the Institution

6. How is your Personal Data protected?

We have implemented appropriate organizational and technical measures to provide a high level of privacy and security protection of Personal Data against accidental or unlawful destruction or alteration, accidental loss, unauthorized disclosure or access and other unlawful forms of processing. For this purpose, we have appropriate security policies in place such as the use of firewalls, establishment of access levels, authorized employees, staff training, periodic audits.
We share the information given to us only in the ways described in this Policy and in accordance with your express and specific consent.

7. What are your rights with Personal Data?

With regard to the processing of personal data, you can exercise the following rights:

  • Right of Access
    You have the right to know what data is held and processed, why it is held and processed, and other additional information about it, and to request a copy of it.
  • Right of rectification
    You have the right to request correction, modification and completion of your Personal Data.
  • Right of Deletion
    You may request the deletion of your Personal Data when they are processed with your consent.
  • Right to restriction of processing
    You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your Personal Data if their accuracy is questioned.
  • Right to object to processing
    You have the right to object to the processing of your Personal Data when it is based on legitimate interest, as well as for direct marketing and profiling purposes.
  • Right to Portability
    You have the right to request and receive your Personal Data in a format that allows you to access, use and process it by commonly used processing methods.
  • Right to withdraw consent
    You have the right, if the processing of your data is based on your consent, to withdraw it at any time.

8.Who is the Data Protection Officer?

Inteli Express will respond to your request within thirty (30) days from its submission, except in exceptional cases the above deadline may be extended up to sixty (60) additional days.

9. Who is the competent supervisory authority for the protection of fundamental rights?

If we do not resolve the issue of your data breach, you can report it to the Data Protection Authority. If you consider that your rights are infringed in any way, you may lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority, which is the supervisory authority responsible for the protection of the fundamental rights and freedoms of natural persons with regard to the processing of the data subject’s personal data.
