Profile-Background

The company with the distinctive title “INTELI EXPRES” is a Payment Institution licensed by the Bank of Greece that operates in the broader financial sector providing payment services within the framework of par. 3, Art. 4, Law 4537/2018 and European Directive 2007/64/EC replaced by PSD 2, Directive (EU) 2015/2366.

The company was initially licensed by the competent supervisory authority, the Bank of Greece, at the meeting of the Banking and Credit Issues Committee of the Hellenic Banking and Credit Committee 234/11.12. 2006 (Topic 22) and since then it has been operating as a specialized Financial Institution Exchange and Intermediary Company in the cross-border transfer of funds through its network, consisting of the main branch with headquarters and place of establishment in Athens, namely at 57 Menandrou and Vilara Street, as well as three branches with premises in the regions of Thessaloniki, Kallithea and Ampelokipi respectively.

Taking advantage of its excellent reputation and its constantly increasing turnover, INTELI EXPRES soon developed and evolved into a Licensed Payment Institution, having at the same time managed to significantly expand both the network of its own branches and that of its representatives. The relevant license, which revokes the previous one as a Foreign Exchange Broker, was granted to the company by the decision of the Hellenic Parliamentary Committee of the Exchange Commission No 11/7 / 14.06.2011 in the context of the implementation of Law 3682/2010, which incorporates Directive 2007/64 into Greek Law and PDTE 2628 30.09.2010, which regulates the application of the law to already operating foreign exchange companies.

The company’s gradual and structured expansion strategy includes, among other things, acquisition of the ability to establish and operate in other member countries through the passporting process, accompanied by the simultaneous upgrading of financial services, accounting infrastructure, as well as its information systems. Thus, by becoming a Payment Institution Public Limited Company, the company started to apply International Accounting Standards (IAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), strengthening the role of financial and management accounting and thus improving the actions of planning, decision-making and control.

The presence of the Institution and the provision of payment services in the European Area with a branch was dynamically strengthened with the acquisition of two more representatives in Italy with service points in Bari & Rome, as well as throughout the territory of Cyprus, while without branch under the free provision of services in the following countries:

At the same time, the Institution, in the context of achieving a substantial upgrade, extended the range of payment services provided to include Payment Accounts (PA) services under par. 3, Art. 4, Law 4537/2018 (placements, withdrawals, transfers of funds to PAs, issuance of payment instruments and acceptance of payment transactions) in accordance with the relevant license of the Bank of Greece and the decision of EPATH 333/2/ 18.11.2019.
